Secret History of the World: Part One

Tuesdays at 6pm, starting May 2nd. 457 Bathurst St, Toronto. 8 Weeks!

Course Website: http://www.freeknowledge.co.nr

From Nuremburg to 9/11, doubting some conspiracy theories is becoming more crazy than believing them. Much of history will be examined through class discussion, documentary, news sources, non-fiction and film, in pursuit of understanding what really happened. This is one history course no government wants you to take.

Designed for newcomers -- for people who are starting to realize that something is wrong with the world & want to learn how to find out what's really going on. We start with 9/11, explore the actions that have since been taken by world leaders, move backward to explore key strategic moves made in the last century seemingly to secure the power of a select few who stood to gain from 9/11, pick apart a few of the deeply woven interconnections between the political & financial sectors, and after a brief stint with the puzzlingly bizarre, wrap things up with a brainstorming session about where to go from here.

WEEK ONE: The Truth & Lies of 9/11

  • We'll start things off with Mike Ruppert's film, "The Truth and Lies of 9/11," which was presented only two months after the attacks. Ruppert uses documented evidence in a legal case style presentation to explain the CIA's connections to Wall Street and money laundering, leading into reasons why the attacks on the World Trade Centre were beneficial to the U.S. economy, as well as hard sources showing who had prior knowledge of the attacks. He also introduces Brezesinski's "The Grand Chessboard", published in 1997, which outlines exactly what the U.S. has to do to secure its role as a global superpower, and emphasizes the need for a perceived external threat.

WEEK TWO: The Axis of Evil / The Cradle of Humanity

  • Events surrounding American involvement in Afghanistan & Iraq will be discussed. What are some of the U.S.'s underlying motivations for the wars? Did the CIA manufacture information to generate public support? Why is this area of the world so important? What happens next?

WEEK THREE: Tightening the Grip

  • We'll detail installations that have come into play in North America since 9/11 like Homeland Security (or Canada's own Department of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness) and FEMA, and how they threaten our civil liberties. Later more recent events involving global CIA scandals and current domestic antics will be reviewed.

WEEK FOUR: It's Not Federal & There's No Reserve

  • Who controls our money, what determines how much money a country has, and who stands to profit from the current banking system in the U.S. and Canada? This week we'll learn the history of the Federal Reserve system in the United States, how it was weaseled into existence, and how it benefits the private banking institutions instead of the public.

WEEK FIVE: Under the Influence

  • This week, we'll take a look at the think tanks that influence international policies. We'll explore their origins, their members, and how they use their positions of power to advance their own interests. Why do the world's most powerful decision-makers meet regularly, secretively, away from the eye of the media, and what implications does this have for world events, and the future of geopolitics?

WEEK SIX: Bush - A Modern American Dynasty

  • A profile of four generations of the Bush family, from Samuel, to George W. Highlights include Prescott Bush's investments in Nazi Germany, George's CIA connections with the Saudi Royal Family, and George W.'s continued relationship with the Taliban and the Bin Ladens.

WEEK SEVEN: Masters of the Universe

  • Going further into the conspiracy, this week we will expose such secret societies as Yale's Skull & Bones fraternity, and the elite resort camp referred to as 'Bohemian Grove.' We'll watch footage from an independent journalist, who has infiltrated group functions, and marvel over how groups such as these, and the ones talked about last week, determine the fate of our planet.

WEEK EIGHT: New World Order

  • Now we will connect the pieces together, apply them to current events, and propose what seems like the most probable future. We'll hold a roundtable discussion where members of the class will be given a chance to present any ideas about how we can proceed from here. We'll also lead into material from The Secret History of the World: Part Two
