PROPOSAL FOR WORKSHOP ON ANARCHIST THEORY
Todd presented on workshop with Richard Day. The organizing group is deciding on whether one or two days would be better. Possible dates May 6 or June 10, 2006. A five-person group has had one meeting.
Topics:
· Classical anarchism
· Marxism
· Current trends in anarchism
· Looking for praxis
Party afterwards. Because Richard Day's travel costs are so low it is decided not to run this event with York University or the University of Toronto. Todd is donating $75 honorarium he received for speaking about Anarchist University. (A few donations to make up $110 welcome.) Want to record event for website, zines, journals. Party afterwards. Looking for experienced facilitators in the topics. Looking for a smaller space. Logistics of two day event may be problematic.
DECISION: Event approved.
PROPOSAL FOR A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP ON DIY BUSINESSES
One day-workshop. Small business set-up. Finances: getting non-government sources. Speakers with DIY experience. Failures and successes. Food, dinner, party. SEE OUTLINE NOW POSTED AT
http://anarchistu.org/twiki/view/Anarchistu/AntiCapitalistBusinessWorkshop Dinner at A-Frat (by FNB or Radical Roots?) Change "pitfalls" to "challenges". Do we really cover legal issues? Insurance? What is a corporation? Some discussion of whether 457 Bathurst will be large enough. Ask people to pre-register. At present decision to use this space.
DECISION: Event approved.
