Should we discuss creating our own website for all free skools and which free skool wants to host THE COMMONFRONT. Maybe THE COMMONFRONT will float freely, hosted at multible locations as a TWiki website .

Alternatively if any free skool prefers solitudes mode, Anarchist U will likely post a link to your freeskool if you choose to ask. In our dying biosphere do you feel a moral obligation to ask all freeskools to share course materials for both The Green Party or GreenAnarchy^?? Do you want some help starting an Anarchist Free University in your town?

I know you've had trouble attending meetings this summer, but couldn't you could explain it to someone and have them represent the idea at a general meeting?

  [John replies] - I was going to ask someone to speak for me but he got such a run-a-round trying to get his money back from AFU after doing volunteer postering that he told me - "I quit". I don't like to alienate non-member people who are willing to do free postering for AFU, so I told him that I would give him his $17.00 out of my own pocket without his needing receipts, if AFU doesn't cough up). Thirty years of sales and customer relations has taught me that the customer is always right and a new volunteer who arrives at our meetings must be coddled, flattered and stroked with kid gloves. I dreamed about facilitating a course about promoting TRUST IN THE HIVE and how some at AFU learned more social skills. Alas, we may never see that valuable volunteer posterer again at an AFU meeting.
  But I digress, so I'll try to explain why commonfront or outreach isn't anything yet, but could become something - as follows:
  
  
  • Common front is just a label which John selected, and is nothing more than a networking mentality. It is not an organization, rather a vision of future brotherhood or unification to help juice up flacid or flailing anarchist ANTs and BEEs in other towns who want to fight together with skools, if they think that they need the power of a hive to be a family of hives.
    Hopelessly spinning their wings many northern domestic bees are waiting for the inspiration provided by the wave of the new species of angry GREEN killerbees slowly moving northward from the Americas. The new hybrids that form will blend and strengthen the weaker northern domestic bees.
    Hopefully, all the genetic dilution gathered in the long march to the north will leave enough genetic anger to fuel the new killerbee students in our Canadian freeskool beeskools.
    
    A separate page added to our website is like an added link on our links page, so is merely another expression of what has already been ratified by consensus at the September 25, 2005 general meeting that AFU needs to do more OUTREACH. Since one person spoke against outreach (the Guelph inquiry), the COMMONFRONT as a separate page can help prevent any one person with a less developed social mentality from blocking AFU efforts to reach out.
    Incidently we have not seen anyone at AFU post copies of their e-mail followup to the Guelph group. Does that mean that AFU has not yet responded to Guelph? We have not even posted the name of the Guelph group, so most don't even know who they are yet. If nothing has been done to contact Guelph, those who have the Guelph contact information should please give it to the Common front committee NOW to be posted on this page, before Guelph gives up on us. At least we can give it a try.
    
    THE GUELPH SITUATION IS OPAQUE - TRANSPARENCY IS A GOOD REASON TO HAVE A SEPARATE PAGE CALLED "OUTREACH" or "Common front". My many outreach e-mail messages may have been the reason that Guelph or other regions contact us, yet until some method attempts to coordinate things, two or three at AFU may be independently communicating to that region and at cross purposes.
    Until John started this page, AFU's left hand was unaware of what the right hand was doing. As AFU evolves to being more website-centric from monthly meeting-centric, many problems will disappear.
    
    Maybe it's best to NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS OUTREACH PAGE in John's opinion, because the matter seemed to be decided as per the posted minutes of Aug 14, 2005 when Rob asked: "if there was a process for adding new links to the website and whether there has been or should be a discussion about this. Some new links seem to be appearing and he was wondering if these were discussed at meeting before posting. There has not been a process for posting new links and no discussion about it either. People seemed to feel that it was OK to just go ahead and post new links or make changes to the website and if problems or objections arise then these can be dealt with at meetings. ". -- This seems to promise a durable unspoken regulation, and because I (all members) have had no public notification yet about "problems or objections" with "outreach" or "commonfront"; until there is a public notification (onsite or e-mail to all subscribers), it seems inappropriate for a "problems or objections" discussion to take place before the fact.

* Internal Stuff

• Having explained his situation to other Anarchist U members in the past to no avail, John will not be able to hold or attend Toronto meetings on Sunday for March through October.
  John was only able to attend the permanently scheduled Sunday night meetings of our Toronto Anarchist Free University collective's meetings Dec through March because he was committed by contract to be away from Toronto for almost every weekend of the period April through November. All or most of the core members were aware of his nearly two years of frustration from being excluded from meetings. In desperation, on about September 28, 2005 John wiki edited the announcement of the Sunday meeting on our website's front page. Within the same day John's wiki edit request was deleted anonymously by someone, without even the courtesy of a warning by e-mail. Perhaps instead of this gag-order or a banning of John's desperate post, the intruder might have democratically allowed John's posting to remain and then have posted his additional counter-request for perpetual Sunday meetings along side as a second post. This would have lead to a friendly conversation between the parties in conflict where the conflict would have likely been resolved. Alternatively, privacy-phobic intruders should be allowed to remain anonymous without having to go through the embarrassment of being decloaked - hey, it's not the secret gagger's fault that he was born into living within corporate hunter gatherers in a carniverous dog eat dog corporate structure and if John is forced to work with lurking non-communicators, thats probably okay with him. ( John's original intention was to post "Not Sundays" rather than "Not Sundays for October and November", but with an empathy toward the possibility that there may be someone whose bloated schedule left only Sundays open, he decided on his own to limit his request "Not Sundays" for only the months of October and November 2005, despite knowing that his less intrusive choice would not be solving his perpetual Sunday problem. ) John's democratic request that Anarchist U begin operating on the basis of concensus was refused by an unknown person, so what next to do because the subtext now is ... John, go away.
  
  On September 29, 2005 John sent a message to collectivebook@yahoo.com explaining the situation and requesting their opinion about the possible solutions when the otherwise democratic consensus process gets bogged down to become a de facto "John, go away.
  A widely used preferred system for scheduling meetings is typically - example "the second Wednesday of the month." -- Please put the preferred meeting schedule system up for discussion, on the agenda of Anarchist U's next general meeting.
  THE MESSAGE ABOVE HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED Possum generously spoke to others about my problem attending meetings on Sunday and I'm very grateful that the next meeting will be on Thursday. See y'all Thurs November 3 at 7 PM (place to be arranged) ...John

• More members are needed in the COMMONFRONT Committee. The input from women by women (race & gender minorities included) for a female mandate is a necessary gender balance at meetings. Currently there are only men in the Commonfront committee. Please submit your name now, only for the purpose of showing your support for the idea of COMMONFRONT. You don't have to do anything, but it will tell us that this page may have tweaked your interest, and that one day you may show up at one of our Toronto COMMONFRONT meetings - if we ever decide to have a meeting.
